With the wide open fields, this issue is particularly susceptible to contact and rubs. This is a wonderfully contrasty coin well worthy of the DCAM grade and typical of what Muldenhütten could produce on a good day. The fields are amazingly clean. There is some extremely faint porosity...
This coin has such frosty detail and such deeeeep mirrors that it seems an ideal candidate for re-submission to try for a DCAM ! Both sides have a trace of minor scuffing, but this only really shows if you angle the light just right. Appearance-wise, this coin may well be Top of the Pops.
It is virtually impossible to find examples of these aluminum coins in Proof condition that don't have a point of contact or oxydization somewhere. The material is just too sensitive! This one is about as good as it gets, with frosty details and great contrast. There is a bit of contact...
WOW ! The PCGS grade says it all - and so does the photo. When we saw this coin, we just HAD to buy it - forget the "book value". This coin is just incredible in its freshness, AND has ZERO oxidization !!! For a collector of ultimate quality, this coin is a must.
This coin is a superb Proof in virtually perfect condition with NO oxydization flecks. Despite a relatively large Proof mintage, few examples have survived that are not impaired in some way or do not show signs of atmospheric corrosion. A lovely Proof for the discerning collector.
This is an almost perfect proof ! One short and faint abbrasion above the 19 can only be properly seen with a glass AND if you catch the light just right. For the sake of accuracy, we mention the presence of a tiny, natural planchet indentation below the A in STADT. This coin is a joy...
A killer striking with swirling lustre ! Only some minimal contact keeps this coin from being perfect. A faint turquoise hint toward the rims gives this beautiful piece a neat accent of colour. With the well-deserved "+" and neat toning, this coin may well be more attractive than any 65.
If you like sitting with a coin and twirling it in the light, this one is for you. Unusually well struck for these, the coin shows off a shimmering lustre enhanced by a fresh die cleaning which sweeps across the surfaces. The few contact marks are well disguised by a light champagne...
In grading these aluminum coins, PCGS seems to ignore the fact that production quality was pretty crappy to start with. If you ignore the natural porosity of the planchet, there are very few additional markings. The coin is very bright with impressive contrast. Almost nothing better CAN...
WOW ! The PCGS grade says it all - and so does the photo. When we saw this coin, this was another coin we just HAD to have - forget the "book value". This coin is just incredible in its freshness, AND has ZERO oxidization !!! I think that the only thing that prevented PCGS from giving...
