Hamburg, 2 Mark, 1876-J (Hamburg), PCGS PR64CAM

OMG ! This is one beautiful coin! There is only one tiny contact mark on the reverse visible to the naked eye. Anything else you will need a strong glass to find, and then not much. The frosty design jumps out of 8" mirrors, the contrast with the lightly gold/cinnamon fields is marvelous. When I bought this coin, I thought it was a lock-on for DCAM, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. NOTE: It is thought that less than 100 of these were struck as Proofs. How few have survived is anyone's guess. |
