Saxony (Kingdom), 5 Mark, 1900-E (Muldenhütten), PCGS MS67

Coin Details

This GEM could easily be described as a King of Coins.  The bright, satiny relief rests on lightly polished fields with perfect rotating lustre.

This incredible coin has been treated with maximum TLC since the day it was struck from brand-new dies and probably removed by hand.  There is one very faint, tiny line just below the King's head, otherwise this coin is perfect.  A faint golden toning around the rims gives added eye-appeal.  Remember, this is a currency issue, not a commemorative one.

How PCGS could resist giving this monster coin a "+" is beyond our understanding.  Also, if PCGS ever gets around to giving non-American coins a "PL" grade, this one will be re-submitted immediately.

I am confident that nothing finer or even comparable has survived, even in Institutional collections.  No other 1900 5 Mark submitted to date comes even near.

This is undisputably a #1 coin destined for an "All-time Finest" collection.
