Weimar Republic, 2 Rentenpfennig, 1924-F (Stuttgart), PCGS PR64RD

Coin Details

These Rentenpfennig coins are notorious for poor quality, especially those from Stuttgart and Hamburg.

This one is surprisingly sharp and not "mushy", the colour is almost as bright as the day it left the mint.  The surface shows the usual slight porosity typical of these, but all of it is so small that nothing is visible to the naked eye.  Faint hues of pink and green give this coin just a touch of colour.

The Proof mintage is estimated at only about 200 pieces, and considering the colour, this may well be the most attractive example surviving.
