I feel that MS61 is a bit harsh as the lustre is virtually intact with a lovely "sweep" on the reverse.  The only fault is a small scuff near the neck truncation, which you can only really see if you catch the light just right.  These small coins are rare in high grades as they were not...

I love these dainty little gold coins when they're all there!  No problems, good contrast, bright lustre, this is a rock-solid MS63.  Only a small faint break in the lustre to the right of the portrait is what kept PCGS from grading this coin higher.  KM doesn't even attempt to value...

The "+" button must have gotten lost under the table when they graded this one.  I can see no reason why this lovely little coin didn't get one!  Fully struck detail on slightly reflective mirrors brings out a nice contrast with full, sweeping lustre.  The only contact marks on this coin...

Full lustre on both sides and a lovely "old gold" color which is completely original. All this makes for a most attractive example in problem-free condition.

What a little beauty!  The few tiny bag-marks are fortuitously placed so as to disappear into the detail.  The reverse shows the extensive circular die break typical of this coin.  Unusual for a gold coin, this one has a bright swirling lustre proving the piece well worthy of the "+"....

What a beautiful little coin!  Any contact or bag-marks are discretely tucked away in parts of the design. The King's portrait has a satiny lustre and floats on a mirrored field.  The reverse has bold, swirling lustre.  NOTE: The quality of striking (or perhaps preparation of the dies)...

I always buy these when they exhibit the qualities of a First Strike!  The frosty Head and Imperial Eagle float on highly polished fields.  Surface contact is at a minimum and generally discretely placed.  I doubt if the single example graded higher looks any nicer than this. If only PCGS...

A very pleasing and problem-free example of the scarcest date of this series.  Full details without any major marks, lightly polished fields, the edges are almost free of the usual uneven rims which plague these coins.  As you can see from the pops, this date is rare in higher grade.  We...

Beautifully struck with full lustre, it's hard to understand what kept PCGS from grading this one higher.  We won't guarantee anything, but this coin could be a great "crack-out" candidate.  Even at "only" MS64, this coin is way near the top, AND well above the KM value for BU (MS63). ...

ALL German gold coins as Proofs are RARE !  Gold being the soft metal that it is, these Proofs are hyper-sensitive to contact.  This example is not much short of DCAM.  The deep mirror fields have stray contact, but the details jump out of the fields, especially on the reverse.  Even the...
